when you place your mouse over a notification you will see a container with

- the tasks due date in a text field, you can use this to set the tasks due date using rtm due strings like “in 1 hour”
- the tasks title, tags, url and priority
- 4 task icons which allow you to postpone the task for 15 mins, postpone the task for a day, complete and delete the task

It enables you to add tasks to remember the milk through rtm’s gmail gadget which is embedded in the app to make things easy

You can also add tasks using Launchy or any other app launcher by setting launchy so that it will index executables and then pointing it at the rtm notifiers executable (on windows this would be in the program files directory)

Then all you have to do is display launchy, type something like rtm so that it displays rtm notifiers executable file, press tab to pass command line arguments to it and type “add this is a task from launchy via rtm notifier” (without quotes) and press enter to send it off. This is still a very new feature so if you have any problems with it let me know.

Rtm Notifier allows you to select what tasks you are notified about by selecting lists (or by tagging a particular task), so during work you could set it so that you are only notified about tasks due on your work list and then change over to other lists when you finish work

you can turn and off notifications by list or task

You can customise how the notifications are displayed
- by default they will disappear after a few seconds
- notifications can be make “sticky” (to stay on screen until closed by you)

notifications can be made to stay on the screen

By default due tasks are only displayed once, if you have an important task (or list of tasks) you can set them to display every time the app checks for tasks (5 minutes) by adding an “rtmn-nag” tag to the task or selecting nagging in the lists section

This is still a beta product, so its not going to be perfect but hopefully you’ll find it useful.
